Holiday Happenings:
Once our own needs are cared for, sometimes we take for granted other's human basic needs. Will you please help Alaskans in need by stopping by and adding to our donation collection bins? Choose your favorite or all three charities.
Food: Food and monetary donations will be accepted for Bean's Cafe and The Children's Lunchbox. Bean's Cafe and The Children's Lunchbox help feed hungry Alaskans.
Safety & Shelter: Clothing, towels, blankets, hygenic products and monetary donations for the Abused Women's Aid in Crisis shelter will be accepted. AWAIC offers help for individuals and families who have been hurt by domestic violence. Domestic Violence increases during the stressful holidays and in the winter's darkness. Also, if you are a hands-on practitioner (chiropractor, massage therapist, craniosacral therapist, acupuncturist, etc), Dr. Jessica is organizing A Comforting Touch...a non-profit series of volunteer hands-on efforts to soothe those hurt by Domestic Violence. If we have enough volunteers we can make regular visits to the shelter. Please email Dr. Jessica at pedsdc@gmail.com if you are interested in participating!
Fun: A bin for new, unwrapped toys is available to donate for Alaskan children with Toys for Toys.
As our way of saying thank you, all donators can collect a coupon from the front desk for 10% off any Metagenics, Nutri-West and Nordic Natural supplements...great for your family's healthy stocking stuffers!
Finally, our last bit of exciting Alaskan news! Beginning December 9th, we will be a pick-up site for Glacier Valley Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) which provides year-round fresh produce featuring Alaskan home-grown vegetables. If you are interested in learning more, please visit their website, get fresh wonderful food and sustain our Alaskan economy!
May your holidays be healthy & happy!
